Sometimes you need to move your WSL installation to another drive. Maybe you’re running out of space on your current drive, or you just want to move it to a faster drive. Whatever the reason, it’s simple as using several builtin commands from WSL. For this example, I’ll be moving my Ubuntu-22.04 installation from my C: drive to my D: drive.
Steps List current installations in cmd or windows powershell

Problem Root and other users, except the default Ubuntu user on Tencent Cloud, are unable to log in.
Immediately logged into Ubuntu and confirmed the configuration in /etc/ssh/sshd_config. PermitRootLogin was enabled, and PasswordAuthentication was also active. Used passwd to reset the password. Still failed to log in. CPU utilization at 100%.
Used kill -9 2724 to terminate the process. Found implanted programs in /var/tmp/.x and /var/tmp/.xrx. lighthouse@VM-12-14-ubuntu:~$ ls -la /var/tmp/.xrx /var/tmp/.
